I am in need of furniture and household goods for my two sons. I have been homeless for the last four years since my adoptive mother died, I am working to get Section 8 to help with my rent. I work with a temporary agency for factory jobs when there is day shift hours available and the kids are at school. This summer has been hard because the kids are out of school and my childcare has stopped, because work stopped. I am looking to get back to work full time within the month to get all items needed in our house.
I go to church, attend women groups, parenting classes and read alot of books of healthy eating.
I am originally from Clawson were I was adopted and raised until 2015 when my mother died, My kids and I slept on couches with their other grandparents, but eventually I ended up in a few shelters. I still worked odd jobs at that time and volunteered wherever I stayed. I also took classes at Everest for medical billing before they closed and I was charged over $10,000 tuition.
I want to become a welder through Michigan works training and work full time with the Local at Chrysler Fiat and make my sons proud.
I am happiest when I see the kids happy, smiling and well fed, not needing or worrying for anything. I would like to dram big, but afraid to sometimes. I would like to eventually own a house and have a small SUV.
I'm raising money for basic needs so I can focus my fixed income on my health.
