I am trying to fix my van. It needs some repairs and I need to pay for my license and registration (renewed). I struggle with medical challenges and am very proud of my progress. I am a proud grandmother and am no longer homeless, but sometimes I feel that homelessness can occur at any moment. I need my van to drive safely so that I am able to be able to work and provide for my family.
I am from the Corvallis, Oregon area. I was once in a homeless shelter with my daughter and have been battling poverty for most of my adult life. I have medical challenges and some barriers to life, but overall I keep a good positive attitude. I am very hard working, kind and respectful. I love nature, sobriety and my family. I work mostly in customer service or in jobs that allow me to work with people. I am currently unemployed and am planning to work with Vocational Rehab to help secure stable employment. I am also a survivor and work with a team form Benton County Community Court.
I struggled with depression and anxiety for many years and it has been challenging for me to maintain relationship's, work and housing. My life is one with lots of peaks and valley's. I have survived DV and am also in recovery. I found my recovery by finding love in my daughter and her daughter. Being a grandmother means everything to me.
I want to go to Vocational Rehab and learn a new trade. I am also very focused on wanting to find work that is meaningful and helps me provide for my family. I want to continue to practice sobriety and serve those in our community (like myself) with advocacy. Peer Support! I hope to pay it forward.
My proudest moment is being sober (which is one day at a time). Being a sober grandmother and mother is always my highlight. I am also very proud of my grandchild. She is cute!
