I'm raising money for Rent so I can be housed.

Why I'm using HandUp for Rent.

I am using Hand up to raise funds for emergency rent assistance. I am a disabled Veteran and on unemployment. My income is limited and my situation is that I had to leave a very toxic relationship. My Ex-girlfriend kicked me out and I had to quickly find an affordable place to live, but need some help from Hand Up with getting everything paid for. Thank-you!

About me.

I am a Gulf War, (U.S. Army) Veteran (1990-1992) who is from Oregon and have lived in the Eugene and Albany area most of my life. I like to spend my time outdoors in nature and near the ocean.

My backstory.

I am leaving a very toxic relationship. I am also nursing my shoulder from a serious injury I sustained while working. I was almost kicked out into the streets by my abuse ex-significant other, but with the help of Community Outreach Inc (good2go) and CSC , I was able to secure a low income apartment. Got my keys last week. However, I am a little short on the rent and deposit and could use some help with my utilities. Currently, I am working at a Hardware store and am on on workers comp from a shoulder injury I recently sustained while at work. I have worked hard my entire life and asking for hep is not easy for me. I do hope to repay any help I get to another Veteran who is in need.

My goals, moving forward.

I hope to get back into the swing of work (after my shoulder surgery) and re-pay any the kindness I have been given by helping other Veteran. I am working with Vocational Rehabilitation (VA) and HVFP. I am also working with my county Veterans Service Officer to get a higher rating for my VA comp and pen. I will continue to meet with my medical team at the VA and am really hoping to reset, and focus on healing from this toxic relationship I just recently survived.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

My proudest moment was jumping out of airplanes. My wildest dream is to retire and travel. My ongoing hope is to pay it forward by helping out another Veteran. For now, I am just needing to Reset and heal.
