To all of San Franciscan, city county and state residents from Mr. Elijah Givens Cayuga Native, indigenous people, LST-1186, regarding my Hand Up account. My name is Elijah Givens. I just recently moved to San Francisco Bay Area from Little Rock Arkansas and I am a homeless United State Military Veteran with an employment background within the construction trade. I am looking forward to securing full time employment as a construction laborer. Due to the financial stressors that we all have and burdens from transitions to Arkansas to California I have not been able to meet my financial obligations to pay my labor union fees. which has severally handicapped and placed certain limitations surrounding my job search surrounding my construction labor. Therefore, I am humbly requesting your financial assistance and any other resources available to hep me secure employment transportation housing goals as agreed upon through the Hand Up account. I really appreciate all the hard work ans sincere efforts that the PHC staff does for the working homeless population of SF. It is a pleasure to be connected with PHC.! It is my hope and pray that you are willing and able to help me meet my immediate needs while attempting to establish my home in San Francisco. Thank you for your services, considerations and any contributions you are able to provide today.

About me.

I'm from Seattle, Washington and I've lived in San Francisco for 6 months. The generosity of San Franciscans is something that I've come to appreciate and embrace. I'm looking forward to becoming a permanent resident here. I would like to become active in the community. My job search here in San Francisco is limited until I'm able to obtain basic tools for building maintenance and repair, preferably within the property management field. I like to spend my time learning more about the history of San Francisco, which includes attending theaters, museums, festivals, and musicals.

My backstory.

I'm a 50 year old recovering alcoholic with marketable employment skills. However, I would like to upgrade those skills for more suitable employment contingent on completing job training at San Francisco Community College.

My goals, moving forward.

I would like to secure affordable housing and financial stability. My educational goals are to secure a Associate's Degree within the next 2 years in the field of my interests.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

It makes me happy to see people helping other people and seeing people fulfill their dreams with the assistance of others. My proudest moment was coming across the Bay Bridge when I moved to San Francisco. It was an inspiring moment for me.
