Why I'm using HandUp for rent.

Thanks for stopping by my page and considering to give a Hand to get back on my feet. I have some health limitations and fall short by about $147. I make most of the rent and need some assistance for a short time as I recuperate so I can work and earn more and be self sufficient.

As such, your donation may be used for an immediate basic need not mentioned in the above goal, such as groceries, health costs, or housing support. Any changes will always be approved in advance by PHC Staff. We will provide up to date information on how these funds are being used through an update on HandUp. By making a donation to this campaign, you are confirming your approval of this potential change. About me.

I have been in San Francisco for the past 12 years. I have worked for most companies in the Bay Area, like Ford Motor Company, Google, Apple, and HP as well as a couple of other small companies and being self-sufficient I took care of myself and my child. Presently, due to my disability, I have been unable to work.

I find the Bay Area to be the most fascinating place in the world, having seen most of it from Australia to here. Because of my love of Nature and random opportunities that San Francisco offers, I am able to expand my knowledge of new things and new horizons.

My backstory.

Once my disability set in, everyday living and supporting myself has been a challenge. I was no longer able to work and my SSDI has been pending since December 2015. In early 2015, my child; who I was taking care of most of the time, was moved from San Francisco to the Midwest. I have not been able to travel due to lack of funds due to my disability.

While I have learned to cope with the Grief of 2 years of Separation, it has been hard to see the child's grief. There is also the duty component of being there for the child as well. I am requesting help from you to be able to fulfill both the mentioned above. To begin with I would like to make a brief visit as soon as possible, the first date being March 25th.

My goals, moving forward.

I am looking for stable housing and resources to better my health by following what the Dr. has prescribed and be able to go back to work and therefore improve my station in life. There are a few social development initiatives that have been planned and approved that I would start once I get better. I would also like to go back to college to receive my Ph.D in Behavioral Economics.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

What makes me happiest is the last 10 years I was able to take care of my daughter and be well positioned enough to get back to the community.
