I m on a fixed income with very limited resources. My income won't cover the costs of some essential household items. I have to use my income for rent, food, personal hygiene, and bare necessities. I have very little to none left each month to put towards the simple things such as essential household items.
I'm from Highland Park, MI and have lived in the Detroit area all my life. I am a senior citizen who retired from Frito-Lay in 2007. Now that I am retired, I spend my time playing chess, taking walks through the park, listening to music, and watching music videos and movies.
Legal problems led to my homelessness in 2015. I remained homeless until 2019. Now that I have stable housing again, my biggest challenge is to built upon the foundation of making it feel like home.
Currently I am trying to build up my resourcefulness to maintain a stable life and housing situation. I want to be able to become more self reliable when it comes to addressing my needs and be more independent when it comes to my life in general.
I'm raising money for a root canal so I can fix my teeth.
I'm raising money for shoes and a monthly bus pass so I can obtain stable employement.
I'm raising money for a bed, a couch and some household items so I can have a fresh start with my son after losing my furniture and ending my homelessness.
