Why I'm using HandUp for student loans.

We are using hand up pay off student loans so I can finish my degree and be debt free.

About me.

My name is Joe and my girlfriend and I became homeless when we were living with my brother. We all did not get along, and one thing lead to another and in order for me to keep myself, girlfriend, and daughter safe we all had to leave. There were drugs at the place we were couch surfing at and Community Outreach was the only safe place to be. I have lived in New Jersey and other places, but now we're in Corvallis because my daughter is here and I want to keep her safe. I am trying to get back on my feet with work and do EVERYTHING to keep my 4 year old daughter safe.

My backstory.

I was unemployed and having to couch surf with my brother (who uses drugs) and things were not going well. I was forced to leave and then move into a shelter (COI). We have been in the emergency shelter for over a month and just got accepted into the transitional housing program. We have limited amount of resources, but we are all doing the best we can.

My goals, moving forward.

I want to be able to start my new job (Flagging) and get into permanent housing and start saving my paychecks so that I can afford a better life for my daughter.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I enjoy hard work, but the job I love the most, is being a dad. I like to camp and be in the outdoors, My wildest dream is to have my own home.
