I need a HandUp to help me get up off the floor. I am moving out of Mariners Inn's Recovery Housing homeless shelter into an unfurnished apartment. I have to have the electricity and gas money so I can pay the bill and I will need first month rent and security deposit to go with the funds I do have.
I don't like to ask for much and I am not a panhandler. I am a good man that has made wrong decisions. My mama was raised on a cotton plantation and she and dad taught me to work, but I'm in a situation where I have to ask for your love and donation. I have been in Detroit for six years, with four of those years homeless and mentally disabled. I have had many bad experiences in Detroit but some how love Detroit because there are many of God's children and servants here. I am a child and servant of God who went astray but now I'm on track.
My backstory is an unbelievable story within a story that indicates that the love and good within me. God wasn't going to allow my life story to be another failure/sad story. I am a success story and I am writing my own story that's honest and straight forward. I believe in helping and giing. I love to laugh and I love beautiful people. I am a cool person that lives to make a big difference in other peoples' lives as I continue to improve my own life by living alcohol and drug free.
Currently, I am enrolled in a recovery coach class as I formulate a thesis based upon addiction. I will write as I further my education and my creative dreams as a true poet-literary genius and writer. I have already begun by writing stories related to drug addiction.
I am happiest when I am sharing and giving, especially the stories and poems I have written. I love to read to people. I am happiest when I am with my spouse- she keeps me focused on being positive.
