Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am currently homeless, living in shelters, and utilizing available resources and case management to obtain permanent housing.

I am looking for employment and have no income at the present moment. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and will be used towards obtaining these goals!

About me.

I was born and raised in San Francisco. I worked for Visa USA and the National Kidney Foundation. I am a graduate of the Delancey Street Foundation. I consider myself a "Jane of all trades". I spend a lot of my time looking for employment and recycling in order to earn money for daily needs.

My backstory.

I graduated from Delancey Street October of 2017 to care for my mother who was ill due to my step-father's passing. After caring for her for one year, she decided to go on hospice and then passed. I purchased the truck and trailer with the life insurance policy and have been living there since. I also have her puppy, Albert, who is "my little life saver".

My goals, moving forward.

My goal is to become gainfully employed and go back to school. I applied for and was approved for the FAFSA Grant and will be applying for the Pell Grant as well. I am #657 on the shelter list as a back up to losing my trailer and truck and hope that it doesn't come to that. I always try to give back to the community in the ways that I can. I believe in paying it forward with what I am able to.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I am a single, independent woman who has been doing this all by myself. I am proud of who I am and where I come from. Everyone needs help every now and then. Having my daughter has been one of my proudest moments and Albert makes me very happy! Graduating Delancey Street was another achievement I am very proud of.

My wildest dream is to be happy and have less worry!
