I'm raising money for basic needs so I can pay rent, food and bills.

Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am currently live on fixed income with my partner Skylar (Full of Stars). It is very difficult for me to cover my costs of living and care . I am using HandUp to seek help and support from my community to cover necessary expenses I am unable to afford.

About me.

I was born in Kentucky, I raised myself in Florida, and then I started traveling and ended up in San Francisco: the place that I now call home. The reason why I am homeless is that I left home at the age of 10, because of the abuse that I have suffered. I've been homeless since that time. I have been here four years, and I'm looking to stay here for the rest of my life. I have volunteered with Project Homeless Connect, and I have been on several different campaigns. I am presently a LBGT activist/homeless activist for the community, as well as an artist.

My backstory.

Having enough money for rent is a big challenge that I am facing. I can't work because of my mental disabilities, which doesn't allow me to work. I have been living in an apartment since May 21st. Before that I was living in shelters and on the street. Life was hard and very tough to live in their shelter establishments. Checking in and trying to get housing is almost impossible to due because of the check-in times. I faced a lot of discrimination (social and identity) at the shelters.

My goals, moving forward.

My long-term goals are for my SRS (Sex Realignment Surgery), a used Uhaul truck for shelter, and a computer so that I can be in contact with people and seek employment. I would also like to work to have a functioning cell phone. I want to become an established artist in the community, as well as an inventor. One of the inventions I would like to create is a stereo holder for the front of a bike. I want to invent things that people can use every day. My mind is quite creative!

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

My wildest dream is to have a house built in the side of a mountain and be with the person whom I love most.
