Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

For a year, I had to quit my job to take care of my daughter. I am a single father taking care of my daughter. It was too much going to work and she really needed me. Any support you can provide would make a difference to me!

About me.

I was born and raised in San Francisco. I went to school here in the city. I have worked in construction, security, desk clerk and the restaurant business. I like to cook and clean and keep things organized. I love spending my time with my daughter, taking her to the park and learning new things with her!

My backstory.

I had a nice life here until about 1995 when everything started changing. I quit working and fell into the pattern of the streets. When you're on the streets, you are around drugs. I went through a treatment program and I found housing. When I first moved into housing, I was living in a bad area and was falling back to my old ways. Now I am staying in a family shelter.

My goals, moving forward.

I want to start charities. I want to start a charity for individuals suffering from mental health issues. I would like to start a charity where people can donate face masks to help protect those from COVID-19. I would love to help educate people to help keep them safe.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I'm a helpful, good natured person. My case manager tells me I wear my heart on my sleeve. I'm very resourceful and I like to help others get what I have and more.
