Why I'm using HandUp for homegoods.

I just moved into housing! It is great but I need pots and pans and a rice cooker. I can't cook in my place because I need these things so I'm struggling to pay my rent. If you have anything to spare please help, I'm working hard to maintain my housing but just need a little help so I can.

** NOTE TO DONORS: We value your donations, and respect your intention to support people in need with their specific fundraising goals. On occasion, the immediate needs or an emergency may arise, and a Participant might require support in another way for safety, health, housing, or employment. As such, your donation may be used for an immediate basic need not mentioned in the above goal, such as groceries, health costs, or housing support. Any changes will always be approved in advance by PHC Staff. We will provide up to date information on how these funds are being used through an update on HandUp. By making a donation to this campaign, you are confirming your approval of this potential change. If you have any questions, or do not wish that your donation be used for any alternative goals, please contact PHC staff directly.

We greatly appreciate your support to our Participants!

About me.

I am 57 years old. I have lived in and out of San Francisco / Los Angeles are for over 25 years. I had been living in the streets off and on for over forty years since I was 15 years old. I am a coordinator of art shows and other venues. I also volunteer with Lava Mae and enjoy giving back to the community. I am working on getting things in order in my life and learning what services I am eligible for.

My backstory.

In the beginning of 2014 I was injured on my job, became disabled and was released from my job. I had to turn to public benefits to meet my basic needs. I lost everything, apartment, belongings, money, and any sense of hope regarding the situation.

My goals, moving forward.

I really want to succeed now. I have secured better housing but still hope to pursue volunteer work and giving back to the community.

I am also working on a book of homeless services so that I can pass this book out to the homeless. This I believe will be a more comprehensive way to inform the homeless.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I like to help, cook, visit those in need; this makes me very happy.
