Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am in need of a birth certificate so that I can get my California State ID and get access to resources including housing, public transportation benefits and more. Thank you so much for anyone who can support me.

About me.

I'm from Orlando, Florida and came to San Francisco to complete my schooling and become and chef two years ago. I'm enthusiastic about moving forward, but with the extreme cost of everything, it's overwhelming for me. My desire to improve myself is met with great difficulty but I'm bound and determined to finish what I've started.

My backstory.

When I heard that my mom fell ill, it effected me emotionally and physically. In the past, when my mom was sick, my brother and I would be there for her. But this time, due to finances, I couldn't be there for her, and it really took an emotional toll on me. This is one thing that led to my current situation of being homeless.

My goals, moving forward.

My ultimate goal is entrepreneurship with the expectation of owning my own business in the future.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

Normally, I'm optimistic and I stay positive. Even when faced with adversity, I stay focused on the goal rather than the circumstances or situation I'm faced with. This usually leads to success in whatever challenges I'm faced with.
