I'm raising money for basic needs so I can find work and look for housing**.

Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am fundraising for a laptop computer that has good configuration so I can do my programming on it. I was a victim of domestic violence and human trafficking and became homeless in 2014 and then 2016. I have been working but my situation made me disabled, with PTSD and other symptoms, and I had to stop working and seek domestic violence services. I need to get more settled down and learn programming so that I can work and take care of myself. First I want to find stable work -- after having an income, I will be able to find housing and not be homeless anymore.

** NOTE TO DONORS: We value your donations, and respect your intention to support people in need with their specific fundraising goals. On occasion, the immediate needs or an emergency may arise, and a Participant might require support in another way for safety, health, housing, or employment. As such, your donation may be used for an immediate basic need not mentioned in the above goal, such as groceries, health costs, or housing support. Any changes will always be approved in advance by PHC Staff. We will provide up to date information on how these funds are being used through an update on HandUp. By making a donation to this campaign, you are confirming your approval of this potential change. If you have any questions, or do not wish that your donation be used for any alternative goals, please contact PHC staff directly.

We greatly appreciate your support to our Participants!

About me.

I like to spend time painting as a healing practice. I have sold some of my paintings when people have asked.

My backstory.

I was a victim of human trafficking and domestic violence and that is why I am currently experiencing homelessness and seeking employment and housing.

My goals, moving forward.

I want to finish my coding boot camp. After finishing my certificate, I can get better opportunities. After that, I will need a car to be able to get to work. And finally, I hope to get into housing once I have these goals covered.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

What makes me happy is encouragement, support, and appreciation from others. It also makes me happy to give back to the community and help others in need. Volunteer care-giving with dogs also makes me happy - I've done that before and it helps me feel better. I volunteered for Salvation Army for four months (Loaves and Fishes kitchen). I have a dream of going on a vacation - to Hawaii! That's my dream. It makes me stay alive.
