Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.
I am using HandUp to pay my phone bill, MUNI pass, food, and rent. I am currently housed and working. I would like to continue these successes. Any support you could provide would be appreciated.
About me.
I'm a native, 40 years in San Francisco. I worked all my life in construction, landscaping, and janitorial work. They call me multi-talented. Since 9/11, my bosses had to let me go for financial reasons. Since then I've been scraping by job-to-job. Ever since that happened I'm really struggling to find work and permanent housing. I have kids but they don't live with me.
My current goal is to work toward self-employment. Some day I would love to own a tire shop or mobile car washing business. I am working hard to meet a lot of new people and network with the many contacts I have so far.
