I was born in Austria (Hungarian). We moved to Boulder Colorado when I was 3 years old. When I turned 27, I moved to Eugene/Corvallis and have lived in this area since. I was a skilled Machinist, farmer, step father of 3 girls (all went to college) and a auto body repair tech. I love nature, solitude and am very simple.
In 2005, I left a very abusive relationship of ten years and found myself homeless. I then found myself facing medical issues (Bi-polar, and chronic Hernia pain). By the time I finally got help my Bipolar issues were so unmanageable that I was no longer able to function in society. In a manic rage, I broke 20 thousand dollars worth of windows at an Auto Body shop I use to work at and then I was incarcerated for 14 months. I lost my social Security, my insurance and worst of all my dignity. I am now trying to get back on my feet again at Community Outreach Inc. I am trying to navigate the legal system, Mental Health System and am very frustrated. My reason for homelessness is due to my poor life choices, but it is also due to a system that I would like to change for the better.
I want to complete a Peer Support Training at CHANCE in Albany. I want to complete my Diversion from Court and I want to attend classes at LBCC. I am hoping to pay it forward to others like myself who find themselves lost in a very messy system.
I am happiest when I am in nature. My proudest moment was when I fathered 3 girls in an abusive relationship and managed to see all of them go off to college. My wildest dream is to be able to lead a group of troubled souls (like myself) on a nature excursion.
