I was living in a boat in Florida when I was hit by Hurricane Michael. My boat is on the beach in FL and damage to the lower tanks on the try hul. It is not salvageable. I was put in the hospital, cracked a rip, and filed a FEMA claim but there was no help. I was "out of the area" for FEMA but I was hit directly. I have a year from the original filing to file an appeal. I have no insurance. It was my home. I am fundraising for money for a new boat. I am looking for $3000. That is my goal at this time so I can return to my home and living on the water. I already found a boat which is $1875 a Cabin Cruiser, 32". With $1800 I can walk away with a new home.

I'm originally from Chicago. I'm a retired roofer, storm chaser, and truck driver. Although I am retired, I plan on returning to school to get a science degree. I want to study microscopic parasites. In my storm chasing during the Andrew, Katrina, and Dennis storms, I found that the most parasites were brought here from abroad. I was one of twelve children. My late mother wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, cop, or scientist. I am following through on her last request by becoming a scientist. I already consider myself to be a scientist in this area, but once I reach Florida I want to follow through with getting my degree.
